What Is a GST Filing Calendar?

A GST filing calendar is a schedule of due dates for returns and related compliance obligations under India’s Goods and Services Tax system. It helps registered businesses identify which GST forms apply to them and when each monthly, quarterly or annual return is normally due.

Quarterly GST Filing Calendar Under QRMP

Eligible regular taxpayers with aggregate turnover up to ₹5 crore may opt for the Quarterly Return Monthly Payment (QRMP) scheme, subject to the scheme conditions. GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B are filed quarterly, while tax may still need to be paid for the first two months of the quarter.

Quarter Quarterly GSTR-1 Quarterly GSTR-3B
Apr–Jun 2026 13 July 2026 22 or 24 July 2026
Jul–Sep 2026 13 October 2026 22 or 24 October 2026
Oct–Dec 2026 13 January 2027 22 or 24 January 2027
Jan–Mar 2027 13 April 2027 22 or 24 April 2027

Whether the 22nd or 24th applies to GSTR-3B depends on the taxpayer’s state or union territory. QRMP taxpayers should also check the monthly tax payment deadline (generally the 25th of the following month for the first two months of a quarter) and optional IFF dates.

Annual GST Return Due Dates

Where required, GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C for FY 2025–26 are ordinarily due by 31 December 2026, subject to eligibility, exemptions and notified extensions. For FY 2026–27 the corresponding standard date is 31 December 2027. Composition taxpayers should check the relevant GSTR-4 annual filing due date for their financial year on the GST portal; it should not be confused with GSTR-9.

Which GST Filing Dates Apply to Your Business?

  • Monthly regular filer: track GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B each month.
  • QRMP taxpayer: track quarterly GSTR-1/GSTR-3B, monthly tax payments and optional IFF.
  • Composition taxpayer: track CMP-08 quarterly payments and annual GSTR-4, where applicable.
  • ISD, TDS/TCS or non-resident registrant: track the relevant GSTR-6, GSTR-7, GSTR-8, GSTR-5 or GSTR-5A schedule.

How to Check Your Exact GST Due Date

  1. Open the official GST portal and sign in.
  2. Go to Services → Returns → Returns Dashboard.
  3. Choose the financial year and return period.
  4. Review the form tiles and the deadline shown for your GSTIN.
  5. Check official notifications and updates for any extensions.

What Happens If You Miss a GST Filing Deadline?

Missing a prescribed deadline may attract late fees, interest on delayed tax payment or other compliance consequences depending on the return and facts. A missed GSTR-1 can also disrupt subsequent filing steps. See our GST late fees guide for a separate explanation of charges; this calendar focuses on when to file.
