\n\t\t\t\tAs you already know, for every consignment with a value exceeding \u20b9 50,000, the person in charge of the conveyance\/vehicle must carry an e-way bill. However, in certain circumstances, the end consumer may also have to generate an e-way bill.

<\/span>When Should an End Consumer Generate an E-way Bill?<\/span><\/h2>\n

If you are an end consumer of goods, you must generate an e-way bill under the following scenario.<\/p>\n

The value of the goods transported to you on a vehicle exceeds\u00a0Rs.\u00a0<\/span>50,000 (assuming you are unregistered).<\/b><\/p>\n

In this scenario, you must fill in the vehicle number in Part B of Form GST EWB-01. Suppose the person transporting the goods is an unregistered or ordinary citizen, and he wonders how to generate e way bill for an unregistered person. In that case, he can generate the bill in two ways:<\/p>\n

  1. Request his supplier to generate an e-way bill.<\/li>\n
  2. Log in to the e-way bill for citizens portal and generate his e-way bill.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    <\/span><\/span>E-way Bill Generation by Citizens<\/span><\/h2>\n

    You must follow the below steps to generate an e-way bill for an unregistered person or a citizen.<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Navigate to the e-way bill portal.<\/li>\n
    2. Select \u201cE-way bill for Citizens<\/b>\u201d beneath \u201cRegistration<\/b>.\u201d<\/li>\n
    3. Click \u201cGenerate New EWB<\/b>\u201d for e-way bill generation.<\/li>\n
    4. Fill in the enrollment application details and click on \u201cContinue to Bill Generation<\/b>.\u201dFill in basic information such as:\n
        \n
      • State- concerning the Address mentioned<\/li>\n
      • Name- refers to the legal name<\/li>\n
      • PAN<\/li>\n
      • The mobile number and e-mail address<\/li>\n
      • The consumer\u2019s address<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Note:\u00a0<\/b>All the information (except e-mail id and PAN) is compulsory<\/li>\n

      • Request an\u00a0OTP<\/b>, and on receiving it on the mobile number, verify it on the same screen.<\/li>\n
      • After filling in the above details, tick against the declaration and click \u201cContinue to Bill Generation.<\/b>\u201d<\/li>\n
      • Fill up the details of the vehicle and the items you move. Next, select the\u00a0transaction typ<\/b>e from the screen that appears. Then, select either of the below-mentioned transactions.\n
          \n
        • Outward supply<\/b>\u2013 On selecting this transaction, the \u201cFrom<\/b>\u201d details will auto-populate from the details in the earlier step.<\/li>\n
        • Inward supply<\/b>\u2013 The above section (\u201cTo<\/b>\u201d) will auto-populate on selecting this transaction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
        • You have to include the following compulsory fields in the \u201cTo<\/b>\u201d section:\n
            \n
          • GSTIN of the person to whom you transport the goods -this also is the \u201cURP<\/b>\u201d if the person is unregistered<\/li>\n
          • State and Pincode of the person to whom you send the goods<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
          • Fill up Item details such as:\n
              \n
            • Product name<\/li>\n
            • HSN<\/li>\n
            • Taxable value (along with the CGST, SGST, and IGST break-up)<\/li>\n
            • Mode of transportation<\/li>\n
            • Approximate distance<\/li>\n
            • Vehicle number<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              Note:<\/b>\u00a0In the \u201cItem details<\/b>\u201d section, the HSN code, the taxable value of the goods and the tax break-up of CGST, SGST, and IGST are compulsory.<\/li>\n

            • Part B\u00a0<\/b>consists of the vehicle details you should enter.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
                \n
              • Approximate distance (to ensure the validity of the e-way bill)<\/li>\n
              • Mode of transportation<\/li>\n
              • Vehicle number<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                The above options vary for different types of transactions. The transaction types can be outward supply and inward supply. These types would include the following:<\/p>\n

                • Exhibitions or fairs<\/li>\n
                • Line sales<\/li>\n
                • Supply<\/li>\n
                • Export<\/li>\n
                • Job work<\/li>\n
                • SKD\/CKD<\/li>\n
                • Recipientnotknown<\/li>\n
                • For own use<\/li>\n
                • Others<\/li>\n
                • Click on \u201cSubmit<\/b>\u201d after filling in these details. The system then generates an e-way bill with a unique e-way bill number.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  <\/span><\/span>Updating, Printing and Cancelling an E-way Bill<\/span><\/h2>\n

                  You can update or revise the vehicle number after generating an e-way bill using the following steps:<\/p>\n

                  1. Enter the mobile number.<\/li>\n
                  2. Enter the e-way bill number of the one generated in the previous step.<\/li>\n
                  3. Verify the\u00a0OTP<\/b>.<\/li>\n
                  4. Enter the new vehicle number on the screen that appears.<\/li>\n
